I remember one Easter, in particular. I woke up Sunday morning only to discover small white & pink paw-print cut-outs scattered around in the house. My mom had strategically displayed them all around in hopes that my brother and I would believe that…”the Easter Bunny came!”
What are Some of Your
Favorite Easter Memories?
How fun! What a good mom. Every Easter involved an “Easter dress,” an “Easter hat,” and of course, an “Easter basket.” We’d get all prettied up for church, and upon arriving back home — the hunt would begin. We had one gold egg, and one silver egg. Those were the ones you wanted to find. The rainbow colored plastic ones had candy in them…but the gold & silver…they had moolah!
As with any holiday or family get-together…the most memorable part is the food. We would always dye eggs, and we would always make sweets. Namely, a pineapple upside-down cake and one of those homemade bunny cakes with sweetened coconut all over it.
My choices now, of course, are much healthier…but the fun continues!
Here is a round-up of some of my favorite Spring-time recipes that would suit your Easter menu perfectly. Of course there are more “sweet treats” than anything else, because — well, you’re human — you know why 🙂
