Cinnamon Peach Burgers

With this Whole30 dominating my posts lately…I realized I have not been able to provide a fun recipe for ya’ll in a while.  Today is one of those odd days where I have an abundant amount of free time before work.  Tonight will be a late one, but this morning I made some food that will hold us through out the day.  I am prepared!

One of my constant go-to’s for a really quick meal are burgers…or shall I say patties.  You can find ground beef that is good quality and grassfed at a fairly reasonable price compared to most cuts.  So you’ve got the affordable factor there, and of course the possibilities are endless for cooking ground beef.

Patties are easy, so versatile…and they go great with a big salad.  Simple.  On my last post I said that I enjoyed a very sweet Texas peach before my run yesterday…I just couldn’t get that peach off my mind!  It was so good…like candy!  When we went to the store yesterday we decided to pick up a few.

As I was starting to make some patties this morning I just figured, what the heck…let’s throw a peach in.  Holy cow.  I went ahead and ate one as soon as they were done and I exclaimed, “oh, they’re gooooood!”  Jason agreed!  Give ’em a try.

  • 1.5 lb. of ground beef
  • 1 small peach, diced (I left the skin on)
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. dried rosemary
  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. Start by heating up about a teaspoon of bacon fat in a large skillet over medium heat.  Add your onion and peach.  Let them cook down about 5 minutes or until the onion becomes translucent.
  2. Meanwhile combine your meat and all seasonings in a medium sized bowl.  I dumped them all in the bowl, but waited to fully combine until my onion & peach mixture was ready.
  3. Once onions are translucent — remove mixture from heat and let cool slightly — enough for you to be able to handle with your hands.
  4. Mix well and form into patties.  I got 6 patties out of this amount.
  5. You can grill the patties, but I used my broiler.  I broiled them for about 5 minutes a side.  Tent with foil for a few minutes to let rest, and then dig in!
