Push Ups, Squats, and Box Jumps

Still keeping up with it.  I woke up this morning to my alarm going off at 8 am… really didn’t want to get up.  Had good sleep last night; the bed was just too comfortable.  I quickly shut the alarm off and set it for 9.  One more hour wouldn’t hurt, right!?  I began to doze off again and then suddenly I was awake…looked at my phone — it had only been 15 minutes.  Hell, I might as well get up!

After I got up I made myself breakfast and had already decided that I wasn’t going to work out this morning.  I work a closing shift tonight, so this morning was my only chance.  I just had too much to do… had to make food for Jason’s lunch and my dinner at work… had to take a shower, do the dishes… blah, blah…

Then, I realized.  It only takes a small amount of your time.  Let’s be honest.  You can un-load the dishwasher in what, 3 minutes?  Re-load it with dirty breakfast dishes in 2 minutes?  A cup of coffee can be brewed and you can drink it in 20 minutes?  I couldn’t come up with a good enough excuse.  So, after breakfast I did have a single cup of coffee…played some online…and then put my sneakers on.

Here’s what I did today:

I completed this workout for time.  Now, next time I complete this same workout I will use the same weight, but try to beat the time it took me.  I must admit I went kinda slow today!  But, this is a great example of how a fantastic workout can only take a small amount of your time.  You can fit in in somewhere.  Nike coined the phrase, and I hate to repeat it…but it really holds true…just do it.  Seriously.  Get over it.

Warmed up with:

  • 100 jump rope skips
  • 60 jumping jacks

Workout for time:

  • 400 meter run
  • 20 push ups
  • 15 weighted squats, with 60#
  • 20 box jumps
  • 800 meter run

Total Time:  11 min, 27 seconds
