Whole30 Days 9 & 10

We have got a Whole30 well underway here folks!  Already a third of the way done, and I gotta tell you…the results are outstanding.  In just ten days.  On so many levels.  My mood is better and I am sleeping better.  I love it.  Everyone is different — but for me, when my diet is right on in that nothing questionable is creeping its way in I feel my absolute best.  My energy levels have been up, keeping my workouts really consistent…before when my diet wasn’t as solid day in and day out my workouts would definitely suffer.

We are still moving through some cheaper things we have in the house, but come Friday I will be so excited to try making some new things in the kitchen.  Speaking of which — I did pick up my copy of Diane Sanfillipo’s Practical Paleo yesterday, and I absolutely love it.  I might write a review on the book once I have some more time.  In my opinion it is worth every penny.  I have already scoped out quite a few recipes I want to try from it.  Maybe we’ll have a whole week of Diane?  Maybe.

So here’s what’s been making its way into my belly over the last two days.

Day 9 started out with the regular breakfast.  I am so incredibly sorry that I am not cool and mix it up every day…but truth is, I have a life and most of the time I am up for work at 5 am.  Five o’clock in the morning is not exactly my favorite time to be flippin’ omelettes or making homemade breakfast sausages.  I work best keepin’ it easy.  Day 9 breakfast was three fried eggs, three strips of bacon, and yup — some raw sauerkraut.

While waiting or shall I say dreading my shift later in the day I made some burgers for us.  Those I already blogged about, because as a recipe they are completely legit.  They were amazing little burgers and you need to try them!  I ate one Cinnamon Peach Burger before I went to work at 2:30 pm.

At work came dinner time.  For dinner I had my other cinnamon peach burger on top of a big salad.  Salad was mixed greens, cucumbers, carrots, avocado, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar.

It is quite hidden — but your eyes are not fooling you.  I was reading my new book whilst I was on my break at work.  Fun!  Got home at about 11 pm and even though I was hungry again it was definitely bed time.  Especially seeing as how I had to get up 5 hours later for yet another shift.  Yikes!

Woke up at 5 am for work today (Day 10 everyone!) and took two hardboiled eggs and a banana with me for breakfast.  Do you want to see the egg/banana smiley face again?  Not so much?  Alright, I’ll spare you.

Lunch time at 12 pm was much more exciting.  I had a big salad of the usual – greens, red onion, cucumbers, carrots, and avocado topped with thinly sliced london broil.  Drizzled with…yup, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  I am so predictable, I know.

Dinner at 7 pm was freaking amazing.  I made some really awesome chicken thighs.  I baked them with some coconut oil and a bunch of my favorite spices.  Ate the chicken thighs with some more greens and a side of roasted sweet potato.

Had my usual dessert — apple slices with almond butter.  Good Lord, I am so boring.
